Eating fresh is a way of life for us. The fertile soils of our river valley, warm days and crisp cool nights make for the perfect growing conditions and produce the most intensely flavoured produce. The great news is, many of the farms are open for you to visit. So don't drive on by... make sure to stop in at the following farm gates.

Farm Gates

You'll see the lovely nut groves of Alpine Nuts in Eurobin as you pass by on the Great Alpine Road. The grove – which produces walnuts, hazelnuts, chestnuts, walnut flour and walnut oil – sells direct through the local farmers' markets and through their online store.

The mouthwatering gelato at Alpine Blueberries provides some serious competition to their delicious blueberries. And with a farm gate store conveniently located in Myrtleford's town centre at 245 Great Alpine Road, this is one very popular summertime stop.

Stop in at the Pumpkin Seeds Farm and Artisan Mill and stock your pantry with delicious pumpkin seeds (and learn why they are different to pepitas), nuts, oils, dressings, nut flours, dukkah, chocolates, soaps and scrubs and other specialist products.

Raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, boysenberries, berry pies and pancakes, berry ice cream and coffee! This old favourite along the Great Alpine Road in Eurobin is open all year with the added fun of pick-your-own berries during the summer berry harvesting season.

A true farmers' market where you are guaranteed freshly made and harvested local produce with quality that is second to none. Find it in the Myrtleford Piazza in the centre of town between 8.30am-12.30pm on the fourth Saturday of each month.

This place has it all: a restaurant that serves fresh game meats produced on the farm, stunning views over the Ovens Valley and surrounding mountain ranges, and a petting zoo where children can feed the deer, emu, ostriches and baby animals.

This stunning 170-acre farm, with its designer Cortes Kiln retreat and cosy Cortes Cottage farm stay, specialises in Franquette, Chandler and Mayette walnuts. Stop by their farm gate for walnuts and fresh locally pressed walnut oil.
