The Horn Track – Mount Buffalo National Park

    The Horn Track start at starts at The Horn Picnic Area and is a perfect post picnic walk and leads to a lookout with superb 360 degree views of the plateau and Australian Alps. The tracks is made up of well formed tracks with some obstacles, short steep hills and many steps and is clearly sign posted, with no bushwalking experience required.

    The Horn is the highest point of Mount Buffalo at 1,723 metres but check out that view! Those mountains just go on and on…and you are on top of the world! Which one is Mount Hotham, Mount Feathertop, Mount Buller? All of these peaks are easily spotted from the architecturally interesting, boulder filled and utterly beautiful ‘ Buffalo Horn’.

    Just a short walk from the end of the road, the picnic area affords quite possibly one of the best sunset views in the country and just 40 minutes from Bright it is a fantastic excuse to breathe in that extra crisp alpine air as a day trip.

    The nearest toilets to the Horn Picnic Area are located at Cathedral Saddle.
