Cycling the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail in Myrtleford

Easy Pedalling

The famous Murray to Mountains Rail Trail, a 100km fully sealed cycle path along the old Wangaratta to Bright railway line, runs right through Myrtleford township. The trail suits all riders with a gentle gradient and offering beautiful vistas, wineriesfarm gates and the lovely villages of the Ovens Valley along the way. For a shorter ride in the heart of Myrtleford take the Ovens River Loop, a 5.6km Loop running from Rotary Park to Apex Park, following the Ovens River closely as it passes through native bush and crosses the river twice. There are several good locations for a riverside picnic and the trail is perfect for warmer weather with good shade along the river section of the loop.
